Hyderabad July

The title looks sloppy...really sloppy...absolutely devoid of the "English August" effect. But I'm going to stick to it. As I stared at the "July" archive lying blank on my blog, I was blank...completely blank....I had no clue what to write..I still don't...I was alarmed...I recalled two statements with panic: " Every month you should have added one more line to your CV."...and " Everyday you should be able to change one aspect of yourself." The former was by our Systems Management professor and the latter by Arindam Chowdhary...More than the glaring reality of not being able to add a line to my CV in July, it was the question that struck me with a bang: "How do I know if I have changed?" By "changed" I mean "changed for the better." All the while I have been part of a system that talks about continuous improvement, efficiency, learning from mistakes and here I am writing a blog for months altogether with multiple dots between my sentences...a friend of mine who claims to have an understanding of symbolism said that these dots symbolize "gaps"...gaps in thought processes, gaps in understanding, gaps that are glaring and need to be replaced by full stops...whatever be the reason, somehow I have always hated full stops...they are ugly and abrupt...the multiple dots on the other hand give a "roll over" effect...not in the stock market sense..."roll over" in the sense of continuity...they probably give the effect of "meer" in music notations...I have attempted to make this blog as close to the flow of my thoughts as possible...and no bloody symbolism theory can make me go by the rigid and dry rules of English grammar...so I am happy with the sloppy title of this post and most importantly the dots...Now coming to the title...I really can't justify the nomenclature...it's July and it's Hyderabad....so what's so special about it? It's rainy, it's muddy, it's the no whites season out here...and it's a lazy feeling...I think that's special...It's been ages I have felt lazy and I seem to have taken a liking to it...I don't know if you have ever noticed how the subdued sunshine looks in your verandah when it's cloudy...it's mystical trust me...The freshly wet and green eucalyptus branch was tickling the terrace wall and the subdued sunshine was kissing the top of it...and the impact on the terrace floor was dreamy...and the mango pickles bottle was also standing in the corner...it reminded me of Kochamma in "God of Small things" and it reminded me of "Malgudi Days" and it also reminded me of the nursery rhyme that Rishi used to listen to called "cowwa lomdi" which had a line that goes like " rotis being made by a granny in a sunny verandah"...July...July in Hyderabad...(read it like "Bond...James Bond).
